Privacy Policy
HandpickedRoles is not open yet. Today this site does one thing. It takes an email address so we can tell you when it opens. This policy covers that, and describes the posture the product will launch with.
What we collect right now
Only the email address you type into the form, plus the date you submitted it and a note of which page it came from. That is the entire record.
We do not log your IP address or your browser's user agent alongside it. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies on this site. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font provider, so loading this page does not tell anyone else that you visited.
What we do with it
We send you one email when the product opens. That is the only use. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your address, and we do not add you to any other list.
What we deliberately do not collect
- Resumes. The product does not accept, parse, or store resumes. This is a deliberate design decision, not an omission. A database of resumes belonging to people quietly exploring a move is exactly the wrong thing to accumulate.
- Passwords. Sign-in will use Google, so no password of yours ever reaches us. We request the minimum permissions needed to identify your account.
- Your employer's knowledge. Nothing about your use of the product is disclosed to anyone, including employers whose roles you are shown.
When the product opens
Using HandpickedRoles will involve information you choose to give it. That means the kind of role you want, where you'll work, compensation expectations, the rubric you write, and your reactions to specific postings. That information is yours, is private to your account, and is enforced as private at the database level rather than only in the interface.
Postings and scoring are processed by third-party language-model providers. Your rubric and the postings being scored are sent to those providers to produce a score and its supporting evidence. We will name the providers we use in the updated version of this policy before the product opens.
This policy will be replaced with a fuller one at that point. If the changes are material, we will tell you by email rather than quietly editing this page.
How long we keep it
Waitlist addresses are kept until the product opens and we have sent the one email we promised, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.
Your choices
Write to privacy@handpickedroles.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. There is no form to fill in and no account required. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, and objecting to processing. We honour those requests regardless of where you live.
Where it lives
Waitlist addresses are stored in a Supabase database. This site is served by Cloudflare. Both process data on our behalf under their own terms.
